Today we begin our amazing adventure. We left Plymouth, MA by Uber to the train station in Providence, RI. It was a cold and very windy start to January. We made it to the station and after being picked to have our bags checked for explosives (for some reason there were seven police officers in the tiny dome of the station) we boarded the Amtrak to New York City!
We arrived in the City and made our first attempt to walk with all our luggage. We organized with the understanding that we needed to be able to walk as much as possible with all our belongings. I think this is going to be a challenge, but using a backpack and a suitcase seems to be working. I am so proud of Tommy taking on the challenge
We walked the half-mile to our hotel and got checked in. We then explored Times Square, the Reese’s store, and even waited in line for the Lego Store where we had a Lego “Tommy” built. Then an amazing cheeseburger, fries, chicken wings, milkshake, and beer dinner to get the last our of “American” food desires out of our system before becoming citizens of the world. And of course we could not miss a stop at the New York City Library to make sure there are no GHOSTS!!
Which leads us to tomorrow, when we take in the site we’ve all been waiting for…
